This model is based on another crane being used near my home. I saw that old set 8288 sitting around not doing much, and decided to rebuild it into something new.
It was a quick build, the trickiest bit was restricting myself to only the parts in that set. It's a fairly standard luffing tower crane, the only really interesting bit is the swinging ballast, which moves as the boom angle is changed. I've included some setup shots just to give you an idea how it works.
