May-June 2006 Another steamer using BBB wheels. After I created my reduced versions of Ben Fleskes' train wheels, he was kind enough to send me some more, so I figured I should put them to use. After much searching through Australian steamers and not finding any that inspired me, I started looking elsewhere, and came across the New Zealand X class. It looked pretty cool, and New Zealand isn't far from Australia, so I decided to go with it. I was quite pleased with how it turned out - it handles LEGO curves and points just fine, although it does have trouble with crests and valleys. The 1st and 3rd driver axles are flanged, 2nd and 4th are blind. The front bogie is attached to a floating arm, which also carries the cowcatcher. Here's some general pics of the locomotive: And here's some photos pulling some passengers: Here's a photo from TrainWeb.
