Power Functionsâ„¢ presentation

Philippe Hurbain has compiled another great technical article, this time on the new Power Functions motors. With help from Didier Enjary, this article gives details of the items currently available, unofficial LDraw and LeoCAD parts, and detailed technical measurements of the new motors. Conclusion: “PF motors outperform their elders (sometimes with huge difference) in all respects except energy efficiency.”

The future of 9v trains

The LEGO group has finally announced a decision on the future of 9v trains: there isn’t one. They will soon (2009) launch a new system based on the new Power Functions System. Several AFOLs are involved in the design process.

New Technic book available as PDF

Isogawa Yoshihito has released a new book “LEGO Technic Tora no Maki” as a PDF. Only the first three pages have any text in this book. From the fourth page, there are only pictures and numbers. That means the book can be used by children who cannot read yet and by people who
can’t read Japanese or English.
