With the release of the new Hobby Train set 10183, came the news “LDD version 2.0 required to view or download the online building instructions.”

Great! A new version of LDD! And it boasts some great new features! And lots of people who’d downloaded it before I was able to had said it’s a big improvement over previous releases. So I went to the download site in great anticipation.

Thanks to Jim DeVona, the latest version of my txt2dat program (0.2.0) is now available for both Linux and Mac. Jim has tested these binaries on the machines he has available, but if you run into problems, please contact Jim or myself and we’ll see what we can do.

My LDraw text generator, txt2dat has been updated. The new version can be found here.

Changes in this version:

1. Upgraded to current library versions:
   • Triangle 1.6
   • Freetype 2.3.2 (Require at least 2.1.9)
2. Initial build support for Mac
3. Simplified Makefile
4. Added LDraw header info
5. Added -d, -f, -o, -e options
6. Changed def_font.pl & def_font.h to make default_font unsigned
