Move complete – and more changes

July 26th, 2007 by Administrator

The move to my new host is now complete. Everything on the site should now work as it did before, if you have any problems please shoot me an email. The nameservers were changed a couple of days ago, so they should have propagated to most corners of the internet by now.

But I’ve gradually got more annoyed with FrontPage, which up till now I have been using to edit the static parts of my site, and have decided to move to a CMS system. I haven’t decided whether the content will stay the same or not. But it won’t be happening straight away, so don’t worry too much. The only downside is that all the URLs will probably change.

I’ve also decided to host my LEGO pics (and probably non-LEGO ones too) on my own site. I’m currently setting up a gallery system, and will launch it soon.

The only constant in life is change…

BRE moving

July 22nd, 2007 by Administrator

Yep, after several years with Northstar, I’ve finally decided to move to a new web host. I’m currently in the process of copying the site over, and will be switching over the domain name in the next couple of days. So although the URLs will all remain the same, some may experiance outages as nameserver information propagates.

Thank you all for your patronage!

Brickshelf temporary reprieve

July 17th, 2007 by RoscoHead

After the outcry, it appears Kevin has decided to make Brickshelf available again, but only temporarily. The message on the site reads “Brickshelf will be shutting down on 2007/07/31. Please save your files to your computer”. That will please a lot of people that didn’t have local copies.

Also, Bob Kojima has written a little backup program that lets you easily download folders, you can get the program here or here.

Brickshelf gone!

July 15th, 2007 by Administrator

The premier image server for LEGO fans, BrickShelf, has discontinued operation as of today, without any warning. As many of our images were hosted there, it will take some time to upload them here and fix all the links, so please bear with us while we do this.
