Brickshelf temporary reprieve

July 17th, 2007 by RoscoHead

After the outcry, it appears Kevin has decided to make Brickshelf available again, but only temporarily. The message on the site reads “Brickshelf will be shutting down on 2007/07/31. Please save your files to your computer”. That will please a lot of people that didn’t have local copies.

Also, Bob Kojima has written a little backup program that lets you easily download folders, you can get the program here or here.

Brickshelf gone!

July 15th, 2007 by Administrator

The premier image server for LEGO fans, BrickShelf, has discontinued operation as of today, without any warning. As many of our images were hosted there, it will take some time to upload them here and fix all the links, so please bear with us while we do this.

Database Glitch

June 20th, 2007 by RoscoHead

Over the last couple of days, Eric from Northstar has being working to fix a disk crash that took out the shared database server. Unfortunately, he was unable to retrieve any of the data, so I had to go back to my last backup, which was about 3 weeks old. No big deal, there’ve only been a couple of posts since then anyway, and I’ll be able to get the Instruction Cross Reference table back up to date in the next day or so. So pretty much business as usual really 🙂

Some would say I should stick to LEGO building, but I don’t listen to them, LOL. Anyway, for anyone interested, you can get them here. Please take heed of the disclaimer on that page…

LDD 2.0 released – does it live up to the hype?

March 24th, 2007 by RoscoHead

With the release of the new Hobby Train set 10183, came the news “LDD version 2.0 required to view or download the online building instructions.”

Great! A new version of LDD! And it boasts some great new features! And lots of people who’d downloaded it before I was able to had said it’s a big improvement over previous releases. So I went to the download site in great anticipation.
